Today in REP we got to see the teachers do the shadow dance. It's a fun dance where you need to follow the leader. Today in math we learned about 3D shapes and Miss Lloyd showed us how to draw them. In our journal, we had to draw them ourselves. We had to make sure to include dotted lines to show that it was 3D. Today during snack Mrs. Griffin showed us all how to open her Japan treasures box! We are reading a chapter book called Gooseberry Park by Cynthia Rylant. We are really liking it so far, especially the characters Kona and Murray!

We found water bugs and caddisflies. We also found some small littler bugs we had to look through a magnifying glass to see them! We found quite a few ticks as well! Someone caught two water striders at once! We had so much fun on our field trip! Thanks Maggie!

We had Library today and we read about how different animals use different body parts. It was called What do you do with a Tail Like This? We had indoor recess and we did a great job keeping our voices down-we earned TWO rocks! During Fundations, we started building words with two blends! One at the end and one at the beginning. We are sorry we haven't been blogging for a while-we will try to be better!

People picked on him and called him a sissy. We talked about how hurting others feelings is not okay and we should always think about our classroom rule, be kind (the golden rule). We completed our GoNoodle level. Our champion McPufferson was maxed out and we got to choose a new one named Weevil MaBeevil. During writer's workshop we wrote about our favorite place to be!

Kon'nichiwa! That's hello in Japanese! Today we had writer's workshop. Some of us went down to the Library to print photos for our new books! We are working on chapter books with real photographs or images. We like to sign up on the new chart for a writing conference with Miss Lloyd. Today we started using an arrow clip for our daily schedule so we can see what subject we are on. We used to turn them over, but now we can see what we completed that day. This helps us when it's time to sit down and write the blog.Today we went down to the music/art room to get our eyes checked. We learned about digraph blends during Fundations (for example: sh r ed). Today we learned how to count in Japanese. Josh read us a story during read aloud called Biscuit. Other students have signed up to read stories during read aloud on other days this week! This is really helping with our fluency. Today we had Library and we read a nonfiction book called Winnie. It had really cute pictures of a baby bear. This book taught us about the origin of Winnie the Pooh. There were a lot of new books in the Library today! This morning, we learned how to play first to four during math.

When he was in Florida he ran into Mrs. MacQueen at Magic Kingdom! Today we got to look at a new map of Japan and it had volcanoes on it. We thought the people living there should move so they will stay safe. Today during music we played "You Can't Jump Josie." We sang "Floating down the river." Today we changed how we do reading-now we get to have reading centers! During math we used white boards to write all the ways to make ten, including ways that used THREE numbers! For example, 5+4+1=10. Today it was too cold so we did not get to go outside for either recess, but we had fun inside! During choice time a couple of students played a go fish alphabet game.
