Week TWO!

This week we learned new classroom routines, explored math centers, practiced whole body listening...
Started writing our hopes and dreams...

Week two was another great week!

Please remember that Thursday, September 13, 2018 is our field trip to the Tunbridge Fair! It would be very helpful if you had your permission slip in by Tuesday!

I have called some of you to check in about how the start to school is going and it has been wonderful chatting with you! If you haven't heard from me yet you can expect to hear from me before September is over.

Today we all took pictures for our Birthday wall! We will be trying a new Birthday Celebration routine where we pick one day each month and have a small celebration with one sweet treat and the rest healthy snacks! I will contact you before your child's birthday month to set this up. If you have questions about this, please let me know.

A Beautiful Day!

Today we decided to take advantage of the sunshine while it is here! When we finished math early, we went outside for extra recess! Then, we even got to have lunch outside! It was so much fun :)

A Fun Week in First Grade!

We filled our ROCKS jar and celebrated with pajamas and stuffed animal day last Friday!

We had to take a silly one, of course!

This week is all about reading! We decorated our door after reading Fox in Socks, we have been learning all about Dr. Seuss, and on Wednesday we participated in drop everything and read!

Friday students will wear Pajamas again and are allowed to bring one stuffed animal to school. At 2:30 we will have an all school read in the gym. Happy Reading!

Happy Valentine's Day!

We celebrated Valentine's Day yesterday with a heart greeting and a party in the afternoon! We had so much fun!

It's the doubles baby!

In math, we are learning all about the doubles! Below is our doubles rap. It went home in our folders on Tuesday! We are doing a great job memorizing our doubles!

States of Matter!

We are learning about the states of matter in science! So far we have learned about solids and liquids! We have been exploring different materials and using evidence to classify them as solids or liquids. Take a look!
